Before opening the Consulate and being appointed Honorary Consul, in September 2013, Prof. Marko Bumbaširević had the first meeting with H.E. Dr. Gandi Tugsjargal, the accredited ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Serbia, with the headquarters in Budapest. Furthermore, in November 2013, during the official visit of H.E. Mr. Bold Luvsanvandan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to Serbia, Prof. Bumbaširević was one of the hosts of the Mongolian delegation. On that occasion, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Prof. Bumbaširević organized the visit of the entire delegation to Kelebija horse-farm and to Novi Sad City Council. The next day, Prof. Bumbaširević organized and hosted a dinner for the entire delegation in the “Franš” restaurant in Belgrade.
Furthermore, on 27 June 2014, the Consulate of Mongolia in the Republic of Serbia, headed by the Honorary Consul Prof. Dr. Marko Bumbaširević, was officially opened. According to the envisaged diplomatic procedure, an official opening ceremony was organized, as well as the reception of a letters patent and exequatur. Dragan Momčilović, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, granted a letters patent to the Honorary Consul, as well as the authority to work in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. Thus the Consulate of Mongolia began with its activities.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Gandi Tugsjargal, Ambassador of Mongolia to Budapest and Non-Resident Ambassador to Serbia, as well as the Embassy staff, prominent figures from Serbia’s public life, representatives of the consular corps, and other officials from our country.
